A little More about the purpose of this Blog....
In case you just stumbled across this Blog and were wondering why it exists and when posts about animated cartoons will start appearing, here's the lowdown.
If you have noticed or not, Real animated cartoons, cartoons that have been drawn by hand and animated by cartoon animators is quickly disappearing from the land.
I've noticed this phenomenon, not just by the total lack of hand drawn cartoons in theatres but the dwindling amount of cartoons on television and even in video stores. I sincerely do not believe that the public is rejecting this type of entertainment but do think that studio heads and the people who control what is produced, is going right to where they 'feel' the money is. By doing so, they have turned their backs on traditionally animated entertainment. This is not something that hasn't happened before. In the 40's, 50's 60's, and 70's, animated features and shorts had been declared as dying out...that is until someone or some studio bucked the system. Even Disney, in the late 60's was looking to close its' animation unit.
Just so that you understand where I'm coming from, I am not a computer animation snob. I've totally enjoyed computer animation in a variety of different movies from Sony, Dreamworks, Blue Sky and Pixar. I'm often amazed at what has been done with the medium. With computer technology helping bring down the cost of traditionally animated entertainment, there's no reason for me to reject the technology.
I just believe that Animated Cartoons drawn by hand, offer a totally different experience to the viewer that is just as endless. The look of a hand drawn film has a beauty all its' own and we shouldn't have to sacrifice one type of animation for another. Like all great art lives forever, so should this magical medium.
So in short, this blog will champion Traditional Cartoon animation, New and Old....but predominantly Brand New animation. What I'm looking for here is that Cartoonerific becomes the place to see great new animated cartoons and to learn about the people that make them. It will become a showcase of sorts that I hope people will want to visit on a regular basis. The hope of course, is to build a large audience.
I want to see cartoon animation make a strong comeback and maybe with you and this blogs help, we can make some progress in that direction. More on that later....

Cartoonerific! A new blog celebrating New cartoon animation!
This new blog championing new traditional cartoon animation will go live with active posts as of June 1st, 2015. The whole idea (which is still not fully baked as of this writing) is to promote noteworthy and new animated cartoons through this blog. The focus will be on independent, student and studio films.
